And cheers to you!
Welcome to my last blog of 2015 (although it wasn’t all that long ago–about 3 months–that it was my very first blog of 2015)!
I don’t really know why I’m always caught by surprise at the speed of the last few months of the year. I start getting marginally anxious at the beginning of August because I know that once summer is officially over, the last quarter of the year will rocket forward at breakneck speed. This year was no exception, particularly because we launched this blog! I don’t think either of us were quite prepared for the amount of work that would be required to keep the wheels from falling off, particularly in the social media realm! However, after a brief learning curve and a few missteps, we seem to have it (mostly) figured out. More importantly, we’ve discovered that we really like doing it, now that we have the hang of it!
So, it’s the end of 2015! How did this year treat you? It has been another wild year for me, full of ups and downs, although it was better than the previous two years, for which I am thankful. I had some goals this year on the career front that I did not meet, unfortunately, which is always hard, but has motivated me to try harder–and rely solely on myself–in the new year. I was able to make some progress on my home renovation, albeit very slowly, and there were some personal revelations that came to me this year after some prolonged soul searching. All in all, I have a whole lot to be grateful for–and I am!
In the new year on the blog front, you can expect lots more great content from us both! I will be discussing my garden for the first time–we launched the blog during the end of a very hard growing season for me, so I decided to delay discussing it till I could replant everything anew. That will happen this Spring, so, if luck is on my side, I will be able to have a great harvest this next year, utilizing all of the knowledge I’ve garnered from all of my many mistakes from this last year–which I can pass along to you! I’m also going to do a vegan food challenge, as I have been feeling the desire to refine my diet and drop a few pounds, so be on the lookout for that! I will continue to write for my “Cooking with Cookbooks” series and maybe throw in some drink recipes as well. I know that Raven has some great stuff coming up very soon pertaining to organizing and I, for one, can’t wait to read all about it and utilize her tips because my closets are incredibly messy and disappointing! My home renovation is a project that is always moving forward, so I hope to have some progress photos to put up here soon. Lots of paint has been used and it is starting to actually make a difference! Yay for more in 2016!
