We made it! The beginning of this year has been very long, for us at least, mostly because Raven and I are producing and starring in the play BACHELORETTE by Leslye Headland here in Los Angeles! You may not know this, probably because we’ve never actually stated it, but Raven and I are actresses! We met and became friends through the art of acting and then the rest is history! Or, ongoing history, as it were. 🙂
We’ve been in the trenches trying to get this production to the stage and needless to say, we have learned a lot through the endless amount of work this has become! Pulling people together, hiring, casting sessions, making schedules, production design, marketing and advertising, filming trailers for fundraising, the actual fundraising…it has been a lot of work that has really been solely our responsibility. We are basically running a small business without any financial backing, which has been a headache, but a good headache. We are now in week three of our rehearsals and things are really starting to come together. We open on April 15, 2016, and run every Friday and Saturday at 8 pm and Sunday at 3 pm through May 8, 2016, at Theatre 6470 at The Complex in Hollywood, CA. If you are so inspired, you can check it out—and donate!—here. If you are in the area, we would be delighted to have you in the audience! Tickets can be found here. Want to follow along? You can like our page on Facebook for updates! You can also watch our fundraising trailer on Vimeo!
Once we get a little bit more of this production completed, we will be back to our regularly scheduled blogging! We miss doing it and have quite a few things that we are really excited to share with you! Raven will be completing her closet organizing series, I have more recipes coming your way from my Cooking from Cookbooks series, and there are some reviews and new posts coming up! My garden is in the beginning stages of being shaped up for this coming growing season and after a year of work on getting the beds in and trees planted, it seems like I should really get quite the harvest throughout the summer!
We are still here and we are so glad that you are too! I hope that this year has been treating you well so far and thanks for being a reader—we appreciate it so much!!
